From April 23th, 2026 to March 31st, 2027:

Outlived!

Unearthed Animals and Bones

In this (temporary) exhibition, Museum Klok & Peel lets bones and skeletons from Brabant soil speak for themselves. And this can be taken both literally and figuratively. Besides the abundance of animal bones to admire, hear, read, and learn, there are also skeletons telling their own stories, using the latest AI techniques.

You’ll delve into the hidden animal world that has lain beneath our feet in the Brabant soil since time immemorial: from prehistoric mammoths to wolves and domestic animals from the more recent past. Every bone, every skeleton tells a story about life, evolution, landscape, and the relationship between humans and animals.

From April 23th 2026 ...

What’s unique about this exhibition is the way it blends old and new. Thanks to clever AI technology, you can engage in conversation with a medieval horse or a mammoth and ask questions about their lives. This brings the past to life in a playful and accessible way. At the same time, you’ll encounter impressive skeletons and remarkable archaeological finds that demonstrate how rich and dynamic Brabant once was.

... a whole year long

The exhibition triggers your curiosity and invites you to look at bones differently: not as silent remains, but as bearers of stories about survival, adaptation, and coexistence. “Outlived!  is a journey of discovery for all ages, full of wonder, interaction, and surprising insights that will stay with you long after you leave the museum.
